Alice-Miranda and Millie will need to keep a close eye on Caprice, the school's newest student, who seems determined to cause trouble. Next door to the camp is Pelham Park, where Alice-Miranda's father, Hugh, grew up. These days, Hugh's beautiful old house serves as a retirement home but when some startling objects are uncovered in its cellar, the peaceful estate is turned upside down. With help from a much-loved relative, Alice-Miranda sets out to investigate.
Alice-Miranda and her schoolmates are going on camp, there are sleep outs, treasure hunts and other fun activities..... and of course there is a mystery waiting to be solved! The Alice-Miranda series has been a favourite of mine since I was a little girl, and even though this is technically a children's series, whenever I am stressed or want to read something fun and joyful, I always come back to this delightful series! This book did not disappoint! The story was fun, entertaining and exciting and I was smiling the entire way through.
The characters in this book are absolutely fantastic! I feel that Alice-Miranda is a wonderful role-model for children all over the world. She teaches the importance of approaching everything with a positive attitude, and being kind and curious! She is not only a great role-model for children, but also for teenagers and adults as everyone needs to be reminded 0f these things sometimes! The setting and the side-characters are also delightful, and will captivate all readers. I definitely recommend this humorous, exciting and fun novel to everyone who wants to smile and have a giggle! I look forward to seeing what adventures Alice-Miranda and her friends go on next.
